Muttley

Conception/Planning

After we had done alot of research into doing a self build !! we visited Motorhome outlets decided that we liked the sevel vans. Then had to choose between a long/medium wheelbase as there was just use two our next move was a visit to the motorhome show at the NEC.

We crawled all over the campers that we had researched online and came up with the layout that we liked and thought would work for we two!! the (vantage med)

Next was to find a medium wheelbase van quite hard as there seems to be lots of long wheel base though very few medium. In our searching we came across a medium wheelbase minibus (Muttley was born).

The Base Vehicle

Fittings/Electrics/Water/waste

The fittings we were ok with as we used a salvage caravan we just had to make them fit the contours of the van!! For us the caravan was ideal like having your own store room. This is our first self build so the whole build process was one long learning curve!! Especially the dark art of electrics be it 12v or 230v. Here i have to thank my electrical guru Peter (Listerdiesel) for his guidance patience and practical help!! without which Muttley would've not have seen the light of day.
