Would you choose JP Combi heater right now or wait for Truma for 6+ months?

Not sure myself, sounds marketing to me.

Silent Electric Diesel Heater Pump (now available)

Maybe of use to some. There is now an electric diesel heater pump that’s totally silent, available in the U.K. I would guess being electric with few moving parts it may last longer, who knows? Price is about £100 (not cheap) maybe worth it if you rely on getting a good nights sleep and your...

The Chinese Hot Air & Water Heater (Truma) has arrived.

I would say the pump is the same as others (clicks) but with a bit of effort (positioning) they can be made very quiet indeed. I can’t hear my pump at all (it’s also under the bed which helps a lot). There is now an electric diesel heater pump that’s totally silent, available in the U.K. Price...

If a dealer cannot repair it then surely they have to provide a new vehicle. The problem is that you have to be careful about employing outside work by an unauthorised dealer, soon as you do you seriously reduce your option of a further claim or make it considerably more difficult. Even so you...

It may be worth doing a 1.5 hour trip as the warranty maybe your only insurance if it was to fail or there are further issues.

This may help you decide which type of insulation to go for. I opted for foam.

I saw the signature image at the end of the clip, looked like a time trails bike (handbags did). Used to road cycle myself :)

Good sound deadening properties as well. Anyone doing this themselves should take care not to blast excessive amounts into the hollow support sections as it can push the panels outwards (noticeable on the outside). An eager American guy on YouTube got a ripple effect down one side of his van...

We cut a HOLE in the NEW membrane roof and fit a whole load of PLASTIC pipework

If you look carefully at the EBay image above of the billets/ingots, they have probably taken the image from another website. Those billets in the image are actually solid gold bars and are stamped “gold”. If I am wrong and it turns out that they are selling solid gold taps for 16 quid, then...

We cut a HOLE in the NEW membrane roof and fit a whole load of PLASTIC pipework

Good to be cautious John, we have to protect the time and investment we put in these builds. Btw it’s not easy to detect diecast metal until it rips then it’s really easy to see as the edging/rip is like nothing else.

We cut a HOLE in the NEW membrane roof and fit a whole load of PLASTIC pipework

Noticed your shower mixer for 20 quid, I hope it’s ok, however, just a warning in case you decide to buy cheap taps (Chinese made). They are often listed as ”solid brass” and machined (strong). But I’ve proved this is often a lie, many are “diecast” (very thin and very weak - using minimal...

    Finally done

Do you have two or more windows on the other side (I can see only one in the image)? If so give it another try, with a few simple additions you may succeed next time. If you only have a single window on both sides then you probably have no chance at all unless things change at DVLA.

It may have changed despite mine being a camper-van the log says “Motorhome“

Just hit the Jackpot and got DVLA Motor-Home reclassification

Or buy graphics with very weak adhesive “wink” On another note I recently paid my insurance again and it dropped considerably, in fact it fell below what I was quoted by the Motorhome & Caravan Club after they had offered to beat any price by £25. Insurance brokers will offer a package that...

Van Demon or other Window supplier suggestions

Windows seem fine. But call their support line and see if you can ask them a question, it’s worth doing as it will tell you what they are really like to deal with.

Ebay Reverse camera woes - help appreciated!

Mine came with a foam pad. The foam is probably fine (probably better than silicone so don’t leave it off) but I also ran a little silicone around the edge once fitted for added protection.

Oh, that’s really frustrating. I thought this was behind you. Not only is it bad it’s also setting you back a long way behind schedule. If I was to guess, I would say it’s coming in along the top door rubber seal (which I think you already suspect) from there it travels. Could there be a slight...

Ebay Reverse camera woes - help appreciated!

The only reason for me to go to the rear light cluster was to access the Reverse Light Cable (not the Brake Light Cable) or to check it ie the colours. The image below shows the Reverse Light Wire Colours, it’s a thicker wire than the rest. I soldered to this wire (T Joint) inside the vehicle...

Ebay Reverse camera woes - help appreciated!

Your setup and equipment is different to mine, so I can’t say for certain. I didn’t tee-off the existing brake light wire I simply cut off the old connector and connected to the new unit as you are replacing like for like. Connecting or not connecting the brake light wire should have no affect...
