What’s the best accessory you carry in your van?

I tend to lift the whole thing out and split it outside the van. Not that I'd be bothered splitting it inside the van, I don't think. I wonder if you can still get the lidl one or if you have to wait for it to come back again.

What’s the best accessory you carry in your van?

I was thinking about getting one but was off put by the price. Which do you use? With response to the OP I love having my own toilet facilities, so for me it's the Porta Potti 365. I've met people without a toilet in their vans and can't help feeling that they are getting things wrong!

    Shower tray draining

When I put in a shower tray I may put it on a bit of a slope so the water flows that way. Otherwise I will do as I do with the kitchen sink and simply push any reminants of water into the plug hole with my hand.

Water from tap is flowing too fast!

I fitted a vaultage limiter today. Reduces it down from 12 to 5 vaults. The water flow is much more sensible. No more splashing all over the worktop whenever you turn on the tap. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00G890MIC?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Water from tap is flowing too fast!

That was the first thing I thought about but was advised their use in this application was not suitable. That's not to say they are right. That was just one guys opinion. If the part I've ordered doesn't work I'll havexa look into these dimmers, making sure to check amp ratings etc. I've been...

Water from tap is flowing too fast!

Thanks so much for the help and advice. To further explain I have the pump, onto which directly slides a length of 10mm (internal) / 14 mm (external) food grade hose. The other end of the hose again just pushes onto the plastic cone shaped attachment at the tap. There are no screw fittings...

Winter project starting to take shape

The loft insulation made from recycled plastic bottles is excellent and doesn't soak up dampness.

Water from tap is flowing too fast!

Something that reduced the size of the water pipe do you mean?

Water from tap is flowing too fast!

I have a 12v tap like this one: and a Whale GP1002 12V Submersible Water Pump: While I love the simplicity of this the water flows much too quickly. It bounces off the sink and splashes all over the worktop. When you try to wash your hands you need to wear a waterproof mack! Is there a...

    New project

I took out the bulk head and replaced it with one I built myself. It's a wooden baton frame with ply on each side of the wall. Inside the wall is insulated with the same insulation as I used to insulate the walls in the living space. The difference in temperature between the back and the front...

Does anyone have any experience with cutting a front passenger seat in two?

Keep at it. Doesn't matter how long it takes. We're not professionals after all. ;)

Does anyone have any experience with cutting a front passenger seat in two?

Do you need a funny shaped alan key for the hole?

Does anyone have any experience with cutting a front passenger seat in two?

I did it to mine because the price of a single seat was truly horrifying. I simply took an angle grinder to it. My sewing isn't worthy of the Beebs Sewing show but it does the trick.

    Is this normal?

Thanks for the helpful reply, Corrie. I think it must have been because the battery was full. Even during glorious sunshine today it was pulling in 0A. But today I hooked up a fan, which is the first thing I have installed which runs off power from the batteries. On turning the fan on the...

Ford Transit LWB (cab escape hatch?)

I was astounded by the cost of new (and even terribly battered second hand) single passenger seats. So Dad and I introduced the old double bench passenger seat to the angle grinder and converted it to a single seat. Mum isn't sure my needlework is quite worthy of the Beeb's Great British Sewing...

    Is this normal?

A few days ago I installed 2X 170W solar panels, wired in parallel. This goes to my batteries via an EPEVER Tracer 40A. I know it’s been cloudy but I hardly seem to be getting a trickle of power. The highest I have seen coming in is 2.19A briefly on Monday. Since then it’s been just above 0A...
